Photo processing
Your selected photo is read and changed locally in the browser. It is not uploaded to removegps.com. We do not receive, store, or log the photo or its metadata.
JPEG scanning covers Exif and XMP GPS. HEIC scanning covers Exif GPS, XMP GPS, and Apple ISO 6709 location fields. The download is created in temporary browser memory. Closing or reloading the page clears that working copy; your original file is never overwritten.
Map preview
If readable coordinates are found, the page can load map tiles from OpenStreetMap to show the location. That map request is separate from the photo: the photo itself is never sent. OpenStreetMap may receive ordinary request information such as an IP address and the requested map area. To avoid that request, disconnect from the network before choosing a photo; metadata removal still works locally.
Accounts, analytics, and advertising
No account is required. The first release does not use photo-processing logs. If privacy-preserving analytics or advertising is added later, this policy will be updated before those services are enabled.
